How do you preserve an animal?

my fathers cat died 2 days ago from a liver tumour which was quite soon as she had been back and too to the vet and they couldnt find anything then we went back on saturday and they said they found something and she passed away on the sunday dinner time so as you can imagine it was a big shock it all happened so quick, her name was perdey she had been in our lives for just short of 10 years and was like a human to my father and he feels her life was cut short due to this terriable diesese when she died my father and the family took it very bad and he dosent know if he can bury her due to it feeling like we are letting go of her and we will never see her again i was wondering is there anything we could do to keep her without her rotting away ?? i would like this as she just looks like shes sleeping and i feel if i bury her we are putting her somewhere she wouldnt want to be as she loved the sunshine and the underground is not sunny

please dont think i am mad i just cant let go

Other than taxidermy, I don't think there is any other way to preserve an animal, and still keep it in your home in a loving way. What's wrong with this idea?

Freeze drying? I'm not sure how that works. Can you freeze dry it and mount it?Wouldn't it thaw?

And mummification, well that's cool and would do justice to a cat's Egyptian legacy, but then you can't see them when they're in that little sarcophagus. And Ancient Egyptians did mummify their cats, so there is a way to do it. But if it's still legal it's most likely very expensive.
Try mummification. I am not quite sure how you would mummify a cat, but it's worth a shot. It is belived that if the thing was mummified correctly then it would be helped on it's journey to the afterlife and if it made it it would be happy for the rest of it's days.
